Float Gauges
Float gauges are a mechanical gauge that sits on top of the tank and displays your contents level in quarters (empty, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full). The clock-type level indicator is a simple and cheap solution for reading the contents level. We would always recommend some form of mechanical contents gauge on the tank to help aid your tank filler to monitor when the tank is approaching its full capacity, thus ensure the tank is not over filled.
Gauges Available:
We stock the most common gauge configurations. Ranging from 4ft to 8ft. 2ft and 3ft gauges are available upon request. If you require a 2/3ft or a more specific mechanical gauge, please contact us for more information and a price.
How does it work?
The gauge is comprised of a clock-type reading unit, which has a string hanging from it attached to a float. The float sits on the fuel and pulls the string to move the level hand displaying the contents level.
Important Information:
Please note, a mechanical contents gauge may not be suitable for some steel tanks. The system relies on a float attached to a string, meaning the string could become wrapped around any stays within the tank.
